The Randolph Arts Guild in Asheboro, NC will offer a “Lunch and Learn” with Ross Holt on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. In conjunction with Ross Holt’s solo photography exhibit, The Razure of Oblivion, the Guild invites the public for it’s popular casual question and answer session. All you have to do is pack a sack lunch and meet at the Guild, 123 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, from noon to 1pm. Each “Lunch and Learn” is a free event. The public is encouraged to attend and become more familiar with this and other exciting exhibitions hosted by the Sara Smith Gallery, located in the Randolph Arts Guild.
The Randolph Arts Guild will also host it’s first Tea for the 2011 series with Franklinville, NC, sign painter, Louis Brady on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at 4pm. Traditional sign painters use a lettering brush to render words, images, and symbols on a variety of building surfaces – all by hand. Examples can be found on the sides of older brick buildings and often times on glass paned store fronts. Louis has painted many signs for Coca-Cola, including the image at the corner of Trade Street and Fayetteville Street in downtown Asheboro. A five dollar donation is suggested.
The Guild’s hours are Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm, and Saturday, 10am-2pm.
