Saluda Shoals Park in Columbia, SC, is Calling All Amateur Photographers! - Deadline Aug. 26, 2012

You are invited to capture the beauty of nature found within the state of South Carolina and enter your best color and black & white photographs in the “unearth Amateur Photography Contest”. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category.

Entry forms and fee(s) may be hand delivered to the Environmental Education Center from 9am to 5pm daily or mailed to:

ENTRY DEADLINE:  5pm, August 26, 2012. Entry forms and fee(s) must accompany entries.

ENTRY FEE:  $5 per print for adults, $3 per print for juniors (ages 14 and under).
Cash or check only. Make checks payable to: Saluda Shoals Park

DIVISIONS:  Adult and Junior (ages 14 and younger).

CATEGORIES:   Photographs must be taken of Nature in South Carolina!

1.  General Nature:  Color photographs of plants, animals or natural landscapes.

2.  Digital Creativity:  Images (color or black & white) that have been scanned and digitally altered.  Examples of post-processing enhancement or manipulations include: added or removed elements; painting; combining or rearranging images; and/or cloning elements.

SUBMISSIONS:  Photographer may submit a maximum of six (4) photographs. No more than two (2) photographs may be submitted by anyone in a single category.

WINNING PHOTOGRAPHS:  All winners are determined by a Juried Panel.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each category as follows:

OPENING RECEPTION:    Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.

AWARDS CEREMONY:     Environmental Education Center at Saluda Shoals Park.  Winners will be announced and prizes awarded. Light refreshments will be served.

CONTEST EXHIBIT: All qualifying entries will be on display Oct 1 – 7, 2012 at the Environmental Education Center at Saluda Shoals Park.
