The Bascom’s Outreach program needs your help! Come donate your time to our annual Empty Bowl-a-thon, 3-days of bowl making in the Dave Drake Studio Barn, Tue.-Thur., Aug. 28-30, 2012, from 10am – 4pm, in Highlands, NC.
All bowls made during the workshop will be donated to local food pantries as part of the Empty Bowls Project, a grassroots movement to fight world hunger. After last year’s success, we are raising our goal from 600 bowls to 1,000 bowls!
As a culminating event for the Empty Bowls-a-thon, several professional potters, including Pat Taylor, Ned Turnbull, Rob Withrow, Mike Lalone and Harry Souchon will donate their time to throwing bowls on Friday, Aug. 31 from 10am-4pm. A reception in the Dave Drake Studio Barn will follow at 4pm.

Be a part of The Bascom’s The Empty Bowls-a-thon workshop’s goal of 1,000 bowls.
You may sign up for as many hours as you like, with a minimum of two hours. All skill levels are welcome: wheel throwing for intermediate and advanced levels and hand-building for beginner levels.
