Hickory Museum of Art in Hickory, NC, Offers Events in Conjunction with Photography Exhibit by Sally Fanjoy and James Labrenz

February 20, 2011

We received a little of this by e-mail at Carolina Arts. Then we did the research to present this info to you readers. Some folks just want us to do all the work.

Here you go:

The Hickory Museum of Art in Hickory, NC, is offering several free events in conjunction with the exhibit, SCENE UNSEEN: Fanjoy Labrenz Installation, featuring photographs by Sally Fanjoy and James Labrenz, on view in the Coe Gallery through April 15, 2011.

Scene includes close details of our immediate environment seen while walking or looking through a window, including the natural landscape of our yard and the urbanscape surrounding our studio, as well as what can be seen in all that is passed by while moving in a car. Scenes will further develop in the staged poetry, music and dance responses to our visual findings.

Unseen will be present through music, spoken word and dance as the art forms convey and give life to the things we miss. These non-two dimensional works will give form to the symbolism present in the natural and the man-made local environment.

The events include:
Electronic Improvisations in the Coe Gallery with John Cheek, Rick Cline, & David Wechsler – Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, from 7:30 – 9pm.
