Art in Public Places for Lexington, SC, and Lexington County, SC, host their semi-annual call to artists for their upcoming exhibit “Six Frames of Mind”.

This is a large scale curated exhibit at the Lexington Administration Building with visual inventory listing, featured in multiple publications, and more is open to all artists residing in South Carolina.

Deadline for submission: June 30, 2012.

Saluda River Club in Lexington, SC, Offers Art on the River Featuring Works from the Corley Mill Artists’ Group – Oct. 22, 2011

The Saluda River Club and Lifestone Communities in Lexington, SC, is pleased to announce the return of Art on the River featuring Corley Mill Artists’ Group, a collection of twenty-five artists and their work inspired by South Carolina’s natural beauty.

The Corley Mill Artists’ Group is also an art school that provides a “place for artists of every skill level to create and explore”, says Group instructor and award winning artist, Michel McNinch. The artists’ original oil paintings will be a part of the exhibit and are available for purchase.

Corley Mill Artists’ Group houses such a diverse and talented collection of artists that it creates a visual experience for the viewer and takes you into the subject of the painting, says exhibit organizer Stephanie White. View original oil paintings depicting still life, scenes of the beautiful Carolina coast, wildlife reserves, flowers and more.

The event takes place at the Saluda River Club Chickawa Outdoor Center on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, from 11am to 4pm.

The South Carolina Artists Group – Art in Public Places (SCA/APPLS) group will have its 2nd Art Night, Spring Into Summer, at the Lexington Old Mill, 711 East Main Street in Lexington, SC, on May 19, 2011, from 6:30-9pm.

Spring Into Summer celebrates the 3 current themes of local art featured at the old mill which will end in June. Unique, beautiful hand crafted jewelry, original award winning art and artists.
