Randolph Arts Guild in Asheboro, NC, Calls for Entries for its 29th Annual Juried Arts Show – Deadline is June 3 & 4, 2011

The Randolph Arts Guild in Asheboro, NC, is calling for entries for the 29th Annual Juried Arts Show on view at the Sara Smith Self Gallery, at the Moring Arts Center from June 7 – 30, 2011.

The competition is open to all artists. Each artist may submit up to three original works which have been completed in the last two years. Work must not have been entered in previous RAG Juried Art Shows. Pedestals are available for freestanding work. Wall work must be ready to hang. At least one piece of each artist’s work will be shown. Work should be ready for display and able to withstand handling. For work requiring special installation, or very large pieces, please inquire before submitting.

The entry fee is $20 for RAG members for up to three submissions and $25 for non-members for up to three submissions. (Annual individual memberships are $30. Please join to receive our quarterly newsletter and frequent arts e-mails.) Make checks payable to Randolph Arts Guild.

Entries should be delivered to the Moring Arts Center, 123 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro, NC, on Friday, June 3, 2011 (10am-5pm)and Saturday, June 4, 2011 (10am-2pm).

The juror for awards will be Sarah Powers, Executive Director, Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh, NC. Powers is an artist based in Raleigh, whose mixed media work focuses on industrial and rural landscapes and landscape details. Her work has been featured in galleries across the US, including Rhode Island’s risd l works, The Sarah Doyle Gallery at Brown University and The Mahler Gallery, The Collectors Gallery, Long View Gallery, Rebus Works, Vision Gallery and Artspace in North Carolina. Powers was an artist for the Bain Project and was awarded a Regional Artist Project Grant from the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County and maintains a studio at antfarm in the Boylan Heights neighborhood of Raleigh.
