Editor’s Note: We don’t usually post info about exhibits that come to us after on deadline and our paper has been published, but we’re trying to encourage folks from area we don’t often hear from to communicate with us – hopefully before the 24th of the month – prior to our next issue. Which happens to be Apr. 24th for any exhibits that start in May.
Dick Roberts Studio in Wilmingon, NC, is offering an International art residency – Le Petit Atelier du Monde 2012. From April 8-27, 2012, Dick Roberts will be working with Gerlinde Pistner from Nurnberg, Germany and Virginia Wright Frierson from Wilmingon, NC, in his studio at Acme Art Studios. They will paint together in his studio. They will then present an exhibition of their paintings in the Acme gallery on Apr. 27 (4th Friday) 6-10pm.
“This is the first of an annual international art residency I will host at Acme,” says Roberts. “Le Petit Atelier du Monde (The Little Studio of the World) will take place in the spring of each year, either April or May. 2012 will feature Germany and the USA. Future studios will involve artists from Macedonia, Denmark, Slovenia, France, among others. We will paint for three weeks and host an exhibition of the work. The exhibition will segue with the Wilmington 4th Friday Gallery tours. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.”
Acme Art Studios is located at 711 North 5th Avenue in Wilmington, NC.
