Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, SC, Announces a Free Admission Day and Extended Holiday Hours

The Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, SC, kicks off the 2013 holiday season by offering a free day to the public on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, from 10am – 5pm, along with extended holiday hours. The Museum’s special exhibition, “Annie Leibovitz: Pilgrimage,” celebrates American iconic and historic places and people with extraordinary photographs by this world-renowned photographer. The normal admission price of $12/adults, $10/seniors and military, and $5/students will be waived on this free day.

“During this time of thanksgiving,” says executive director Karen Brosius, “we want to offer the opportunity for the public to come enjoy the entire Museum for free on Wednesday, when families and friends are getting together. We also give thanks to the council members of the City of Columbia and Richland County for their generous and steadfast support. This funding enables us to bring the arts into the lives of our community, and we are providing this additional free day in honor of their commitment to us.”

Extended hours begin Friday, Nov. 29 when the Museum is open until 7pm, and also in December over Christmas and the New Year’s holidays. In addition, the Museum Shop is open in December seven days a week with longer hours.
