On-going Quilt Displays at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County in Camden, SC

The Quilters of Kershaw County (QKC) an affiliate member of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) in Camden, SC, are pleased to bring you a “seasonal” display of handmade quilts at the FAC this season. Currently, you can stop by and see a lovely display of fall-themed quilts entitled “All About Autumn.” It will be followed by a Thanksgiving-themed display that will start showing after Nov. 10, 2014, followed up with a Christmas display in December. At some point during the season, they will feature a display of award-winning quilts but will mostly follow seasonal themes for this first year. Displays will be changed periodically (usually every 6 – 8 weeks.)

The meetings start at 10am at the FAC. In addition to the meetings, the QKC offers field trips and classes throughout the year. The quilters contribute their time to several charitable organizations and are currently making quilts for our veterans at the VA Hospital in Columbia, SC. They hold five Quilting Bees: The Divas of Lugoff, The Bag Ladies of Lugoff 2 area, the Queen Bees of Camden, and the Sew and Sews of East Camden that meet at various times each month. The Worker Bees, the QKC night group, began meeting October 19, 2006. They meet from 6:30- 9pm on the third Thursday of each month at the FAC.  Bring your sewing machines because they are always working on projects.
