Arts Council of York County in Rock Hill, SC, Offers 2016 Fire and Ice Gala, an Annual Fundraiser – Feb. 20, 2016


Join hosts Fire King Chuck Boozer of WRHI & Interstate 107, and Ice Queen Laurabree Monday from CN2 at the Arts Council of York County’s Fire & Ice Annual Fundraising Gala at the City Club of Rock Hill, 140 East Main Street, Rock Hill, SC, on Feb. 20, 2016 at 7:30pm.

Come ready to burn up the dance floor in the Fire Ballroom with Diamond DJs Joe Larson and Michael Maul as they spin the hottest hits. Get your requests in early – suggest your favorite fire and ice songs to be played throughout the night. Fire dancer, Jack TuxedoKat will dazzle with her Flow Art using fire and LEDs. Fall in love with Cool Jazz by Jessica and Nelson in the Ice Lounge. Have your photo taken by Mike Baker of MBaker Photographic with the Fire & Ice sculpture created especially for the gala by Artisan Ice Sculptures of Charlotte, NC. Catch your breath while enjoying signature Fire & Ice drinks from the open bar and relax with a bite to eat. Follow the dulcet tones of Eric Brown on saxophone to the Gem Mine where guests may bid on original art by Caroline Rust Ward, Jim Camann, Katherine Petke, Liz Lee, Harriet Goode, Alf Ward, Cynthia Howard, The Cordial Churchman, and many others in the silent auction. An original, 6-foot tall, brushed stainless steel palmetto tree by renowned South Carolina artist, Bob Doster will be raffled off at the end of the night.

Guests are encouraged to wear fire & ice attire. If you’re feeling hot, wear fiery red or warm orange from head-to-toe. Feeling cold as ice? Sparkle in shimmering silver, snowy white or frosty blue.

All proceeds benefit arts programming in York County, including arts in education and community engagement programs, Small Grants to individual artists, arts organizations and schools, the Arts Council’s On Tour Performing Arts Series, Blues & Jazz Festival, Underexposed Film Festival yc, and exhibits in the galleries at the Center for the Arts. Advance tickets purchased by Feb. 8, 2016 are $85 for members of the Arts Council of York County and $90 for non-members. After Feb. 8, tickets are $100. Raffle tickets for the original Doster stainless steel Palmetto tree are just $50 and may also be purchased in advance or at the gala.
