Mooresville Arts in Mooresville, NC, Calls for Entries for 42nd annual Springfest – Deadline Mar. 28, 2020

Mooresville Arts is issuing a call for artists for the 42nd Springfest. Artists age 18+ are eligible to enter the exhibit. Entries are due March 27-28, 2020, at Mooresville Arts Gallery, 103 W. Center St. in historic downtown Mooresville, NC.

The exhibit will be on display at the Gallery April – May. An artist award reception will be held at the Gallery for the public Friday, April 17 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Debora Koo, artist and educator, is the judge for the exhibit. Koo, an oil painter and member of the visual arts faculty at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in Salisbury, NC. She attended Smith College and received a Bachelors in Studio Art and a Masters in Fine Arts from Ewha Womans University in Seoul Korea.

Artists may submit up to a total of three entries. The work must be original in execution, concept and composition by the artist. All Fine Art entries are accepted in any medium (with the exception of photography and digital art). Work produced from widely published photographs, advertisements, websites, art books, other artists” works, commercial or mass-produced mold or patterns and artwork created in a workshop or under the direction of an instructor is not allowed for entry. Work should have been completed after April 1, 2018 and not entered in any previously judged or juried show sponsored or hosted by Mooresville Arts.

Mooresville Arts in Mooresville, NC, announces a call for artists for its first show of 2020 – the “7th Annual Winter Juried Exhibit”.

This year’s Juror: Aimee Perry, of AVA Gallery.

All fine art media eligible for submission.

Artwork Intake: Friday, Jan. 10 (noon-4pm) & Saturday, January 11 (10am-2pm).

2019 Lakeside Artists Studio Tour Scheduled for Oct. 11-13, in the Lake Norman, NC, Area

The annual Lakeside Artists Studio Tour has become a very popular and eagerly anticipated cultural event in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina. The tour is open to the public, and there is no charge for the event.  It’s an opportunity for the public to see local artists’ working environment and chat with them about their process. One of a kind art can be purchased directly from the artists! Our goal is to promote a quality, fine art event, and ensuring visitors unique works of art that they won’t find everywhere else.

The 2019 tour will be held Friday, Oct. 11, from 10am to 6pm, Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday, Oct. 13, from noon until 4pm.

We also offer visitors an open tour of our studios providing an insider’s view. Mediums include wood, ceramics, paintings, sculpture, jewelry, leatherwork, etc. For the convenience of our visitors, each location will have multiple artists. All studios are located on the Brawley peninsula, starting at McKendree Road, and continuing beyond The Point. Banners and signs will be posted leading to participating locations.

2019 Lakeside Artists Studio Tour Taking Place Oct. 11-13, 2019, in the Mooresville, NC, Area Calls for Participation – Deadline Sept. 1, 2019

The Lakeside Artists Studio Tour is celebrating our 10th year of offering high quality original art directly from the artists. We hope you will be interested in joining us! We are looking for original art in every medium, last year we featured not only painters in several media, but also potters with many different styles, wood turners, a furniture maker, a handbag maker, jewelers, a metal sculptor and a mosaic artist. The tour is held in private homes and studios along the Brawley Peninsula, near Mooresville, NC, with the studio owner along with guest artists exhibiting at every location.

This year’s dates are October 10, 2019 for set up and October 11-13 for the tour. Entry deadline is Sept. 1, 2019.

Mooresville Arts in Mooresville, NC, Calls for Entries for “Multicultural Art Exhibit”

Mooresville Arts in Mooresville, NC, announces a call for entries for its “Multicultural Art Exhibit”, which will be on display in September 2018. This exhibit for the month of September is in conjunction with One Moore Fest, a multicultural and international one-day festival to be held in downtown Mooresville, (on Broad St), on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 4-9pm.

All fine art media is welcomed! Artists are asked to represent their own ancestry and heritage and sign up for one of the 8 regions The 8 regions are: North America, Central America & Caribbean, South America, Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Oceania. 5 slots will be allotted for each region. Artists MUST sign up for the region they want to represent. Once a region is full, that region will be closed. (first come, first served basis).
