Patz Fowle’s mixed media sculpture “Boot Scoot” has been accepted for the “2019 National Art Education Association Member Juried Exhibition”, on view from June 17 through Dec. 6, 2019. The annual NAEA Member exhibit showcases artwork created by NAEA’s vibrant professional community of visual arts educators, highlighting the artistic skill and vision of members worldwide. All members of the NAEA were invited to submit artwork to be juried for possible inclusion in the 2019 exhibition. 62 works were selected for exhibition at the NAEA Studio & Gallery. The NAEA Studio & Gallery is located minutes from Washington, DC, in arts-rich Old Town Alexandria, VA. This space showcases outstanding artwork created by visual arts education professionals from around the world who are NAEA members. Patz Fowle’s mixed media sculpture, “Pork Pie” was juried into the prestigious “86th National Sculpture Society’s Annual Awards Exhibition” to be held at Brookgreen Gardens, SC, on view from August 10 through October 27, 2019.
The National Sculpture Society was founded in New York City in 1893 by a group of America’s most prominent sculptors. Its members have created much of this country’s public sculpture, coins, and medals since the late 1800s. Brookgreen Gardens was founded by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington in 1931 and today is a National Historic Landmark and a garden museum with the most extensive collection of figurative sculpture in an outdoor setting by American artists in the world.
Patz Fowle is a professional artist, Visual Arts Coordinator and art instructor at the SC Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics in Hartsville, SC. She is a member of the National Art Education Association, SC Art Education Association and the National Sculpture Society. This summer Fowle will be studying abroad in France at Savannah College of Art & Design’s Lacoste campus.
