April 8, 2015

The “Mother’s Day Art Show” was established in 1957, an idea suggested by Claude Howell, a longtime friend of the Arts. It grew in popularity and became an indelible feature of the holiday in Rocky Mount, NC. We are thrilled that the Bel Air Artisan’s Center is bringing it back!

From the very beginning, the opening event was held on Mother’s Day. Many of us remember spending a lovely afternoon at the show with our mothers, our community, and artists from Rocky Mount, Raleigh, Greenville and beyond.

We hope you’ll join us to revive this tradition. Mark your calendars for Mother’s Day weekend May 9-10, 2015!

The Artisans Center is located in a beautiful old repurposed building, the historic Bel Air Chevrolet dealership, located at 115 S Church Street in downtown Rocky Mount.

Please help us spread the good news: (Forward this info to those you think will benefit, and visit their Facebook page, Bel Air Artisans Center.)

If you are an artist, plan to enter! If you love art, this will be a great time to spend a delightful day, see and buy original art from local and regional artists.  Celebrate Mother’s Day with us!

All artwork entered will be shown in the Bel Air galleries May 7-10, 2015. Award winners will be announced at a reception Sunday afternoon; winners in both Student and Adult Divisions will remain on exhibit for the month of May.
