10th Annual Rosewood Art and Music Festival Takes Place in Columbia, SC – Oct. 5, 2019

Columbia, SC’s micro urban festival, the 10th annual Rosewood Art & Music Festival is a non-profit, one-day, free admittance, outdoor festival. It takes place Oct. 5, from 11am-7pm, at 2901 Rosewood Dr., Columbia, SC 29205.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, thousands of visitors will descend into the Rosewood Neighborhood to enjoy; great music by multiple bands on the big stage, our new festival space will be filled with original art, by artists, writers, potters and more, from all over the Southeast. Enjoy poetry under the shade tree, grab your dance shoes and dance in front of the stage or simply enjoy the sounds as you wander from booth to booth while voting for your favorite in the juried show/pop-up gallery tent and celebrate southern arts and culture.

This year we celebrate our 10th year with new festival grounds; 1 large stage to feature awesome bands from around the southeast, a huge variety of artists booths, both homegrown and from around the country, showing original works of pottery, paintings, jewelry and more, meet authors & artists in our communal tents, and enjoy spoken word under the shade tree.

The public will vote and enjoy the competitive Jury Show/Pop-up gallery. Jury Show participants compete for a share of more than $2000 in prize money.

New this year – food vendors.

Call to Artists – Free Applications are now open to professional, amateur & emerging creators to apply to Participate as Exhibitors. Spaces for booths or communal space &/or Juried Show/Pop-up gallery.

Fabulon, A Center for Art and Education in Charleston, SC, Calls for Artists

Fabulon: A Center for Art and Education is a new gallery in West Ashley area of Charleston, SC, specializing in emerging artists. We are looking to represent the work of Southern artists. We are currently in search of sculptors with organic themes. Fabulon would like to include printmakers working with linoleum or woodblock and potters who create functional items using the wheel. Transylvania Community Arts Council in Brevard, NC, Calls for Artists for 2014 Exhibits and Fundraisers

The Transylvania Community Arts Council in Brevard, NC, has announced its exhibits for the 2014 season and has placed an open call for artists to enter. Tammy Hopkins, executive director at the TC Arts Council said, “We have a beautiful gallery located inside an old church that lends itself to interesting exhibits. Each month we have a different theme or a different arts organization on display. In 2013 we hosted 456 artists of all ages in our gallery.”

Call for Artists 2014:

Theme: “Interwoven” – This is an open art exhibit at the TC Arts Council from Feb. 7- 28, for fiber and basket artists. Deadline to enter Feb. 4.

Theme: “Exploring The Great Outdoors”  – all mediums accepted. This exhibit will be on display at the TC Arts Council from Mar. 7 – 28. Entry deadline is Mar. 4.

Theme: “Walk on The Wild Side” – animals in art – This is an open art exhibit at the TC Arts Council from May 9 – 30. Deadline to enter is May 6.

Theme: “Potters of WNC” – This is an open exhibit for Potters from WNC at the TC Arts Council from June 6 – 20. Deadline to enter is June 3.

Theme: “ArtMart” – end of year clearance sale. Artists its time to clean out your studio and put the artwork on sale so you begin the New Year fresh! This event will run Nov. 14 & 15.  Deadline to enter ArtMart is November 10.

Other exhibits at the TC Arts Council in 2014 include: exhibits by the Transylvania Art Guild, Shellie Lewis-Dambax and George Peterson, Transylvania County Public Schools Art Exhibit, Shannon Whitworth and Christine Kosiba, Artists of Burlingame Country Club, and an exhibit by Kenson Thompson and Suzanne Schmitt.

TC Arts Call for Artwork for 2014 Fundraisers:

The TC Arts Council will also be hosting a couple of fundraisers throughout the 2014 season and is looking for help from area artists. TC Arts has bowling pins available for artists to take and create new artwork with. These new “bowling pin” pieces of artwork would then be auctioned off at the March bowling fundraiser. A percentage of the auctioned item would be given back to the artist.

The “Chair–ity” event will be held in August and TC Arts is asking artist to help them decorate or create unique chairs for the “Chair-ity” Auction. If you are interested the TC Arts Council can provide a chair. A percentage of the auctioned item would be given back to the artist.
