Full Circle Arts in Hickory, NC, Calls for Entries for Exhibit “Assemblages” – Deadline July 22, 2017

Full Circle Arts of Hickory, in Hickory, NC, is looking for artists in the greater Hickory area to enter work for a new themed exhibition entitled “Assemblages”. For this competition we are asking artists to submit works which are made up of different things put together in a cohesive artwork hence the name “assemblages”. The show will run from July 27 until August 26, 2017. We believe that this theme will add a more varied creativity and explore different mediums in the artists work. Visitors to the show will be able to experience diverse and whimsical creations as the artists portray their ideas in their work in a variety of techniques and materials.

The show will be judged and juried for acceptance. The judge for this show is yet to be determined. We will be giving cash awards of $100, $75 and $50 for First, Second and Third place winners. Honorable Mentions will be awarded with ribbons. Artists are allowed to enter up to 3 works of art for a fee of $35 for non-members, $25 for patron and associate members and $10 for Exhibiting members. No work may be larger than 48″ in any direction. All 2-D work must be framed or wrapped and properly wired for hanging. 3-D artwork must be on a base or pedestal. Artwork should be hand delivered to our gallery, 42-B Third Street NW, Hickory, in Hickory, NC, Thurs. and Friday July 20 and 21, 11am-5pm and Sat., July 22, 10am – 2pm. Any pieces which do not make it into the show may be picked up at the reception or that weekend, July 27, 28 and 29 during gallery hours.

We will have an opening reception for the show on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 6-8pm, where refreshments will be provided and awards presented.

Full Circle Arts will retain a 35% commission on any work sold for non-members, 30% for Associate Members and 20% for Exhibiting Members.

Full Circle Arts in Hickory NC, Calls for Entries for “Animal Crackers” Exhibit – Deadline Jan. 10, 2015

Full Circle Arts in Hickory, NC, will be hosting an exhibition, “Animal Crackers”, on view from Jan. 15 – Feb. 21, 2015, to explore our relation to the animals around us.   Images may be of pets, domestic animals, wild animals, large or small. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Catawba County

Intake of art is Thursday-Friday, Jan. 8-9, 11am-5pm, or Saturday, Jan. 10, 10am-4pm, at Full Circle Arts.

Judge and juror is Thomas Thielemann.

We celebrate the exhibition with a opening reception on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015.

Awards include: First prize $100, Second prize $75, Third prize $50.

Rules

1.     Open to all artists.
2.     Each artist may submit up to 3 (three) works, hand-delivered to Full Circle Arts.
3.     Visual works may be 2-d or 3-d in any medium and not to have previously won a prize in a Full Circle Arts competition.
4.     Space is limited, so FCA cannot accept any work more than 48” in any direction..
5.     All wall works should be framed and must be securely wired.
6.     FCA asks a commission of 20% from exhibiting members, 30% from associate members, and 35% from non-members of FCA for works sold.
7.     Full Circle Arts reserves the right to exclude any art objects that do not conform to Full Circle Arts’ standards of quality or good taste.

Waiver and Liability

Full Circle Arts offers insurance coverage on art works entered while they are in FCA custody, with a $500 deductible.  In order for work to be insured, a value must be declared on the FCA Inventory Sheet by the artist upon delivery of artwork. Insurance coverage for work in the show ends Feb. 28, 2015.

FCA is a non-profit artists’ cooperative located in downtown Hickory, 42-B Third Street NW.  FCA members are present at the gallery Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11am to 5pm and Saturday from 11am to 2pm.

Full Circle Arts in Hickory, NC, Calls for Entries for Art About Women 2013 – Deadline Mar. 2, 2013

Full Circle Arts in Hickory, NC, is inviting visual artists to enter their work in its upcoming competition, “Art about Women.” The purpose of this exhibition is to give area artists a means to show art featuring women and women’s issues in all visual media.

Entries should be hand-delivered to Full Circle Arts, Thursday or Friday, Feb. 28 or Mar. 1, 2013, 11am to 5pm, or Saturday, Mar. 2, 11am to 2pm.

Full Circle Arts is located at 29 Second Street NW, in the space they share with Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse.

There will be $600 in prizes offered. The exhibition will be on display Mar. 14 – Apr. 13, 2013.

Part of the proceeds will benefit the First Step Program of the Family Guidance Center in Catawba County.  The Center provides services and support for women
victimized by domestic violence.  Full Circle Arts pledges to donate 3% of the commission from each work sold from the exhibition and requests participating artists, if they wish, to pledge 3% of their share also.
