Carolina Artist Gallery in Morehead City, NC, Calls for Entries for “Heart of a Man” Exhibition – Deadline Nov. 2, 2014

October 8, 2014

That man in your life dragging you down or, on the other hand, “rockin” your world?  We all have relationships with men.  Some are good.  Some are very good but others are unpleasant or downright  bad. “Heart of a Man”, a show by Carolina Artist Gallery, in Morehead City, NC, will feature art that tells the story of our relationships with men. All have a father. Some were kind and loving; others were self centered and demanding. Some were just down right mean. Others were missing or not around much. Many have or have had a husband or significant other. Again, some of those men were respectful, loving and made the world wonderful. Others brought conflict, anger and disappointment. Many have brothers, sons and uncles. All have male heroes and male villains. Tell us the story of these relationships through art.

Bring us the “Heart of a Man” through talent and skill.  This will be an opportunity to pay tribute, ridicule, express gratitude, get in touch with feelings and emotions and perhaps have a therapeutic experience. For this show art should show emotion, tell a story and connect with gallery visitors.

Carolina Artist Gallery is accepting artwork, both 2D and 3D,  for “Heart of a Man” through Nov. 2, 2014, and the show will run until Jan 3, 2015.

Entries will be judged by Cathy Crowell who recently retired from the program she began in 1983 as Coordinator of the Photography Technology Program at Carteret Community College.  Crowell earned a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Florida State University in 1982, a Master of Arts in Teaching: Art, from the University of South Carolina in 1977, a Bachelor of Art: General Studio from the University of South Carolina in 1975, and studied during the Summer Session at the University of Dijon in Dijon, France in 1974.
