The Arts Council of Henderson County in Hendersonville, SC, has awarded $12,739 in Grassroots funding to nine local organizations. The North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program is designed to support nonprofit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming.  The community panel evaluated 11 applications based on artistic quality, community impact, ability to plan and implement the project, and stability and fiscal responsibility of the organization. Grants were awarded in varying amounts from $600 to $2,970.

Recipients of Grassroots funding for the 2014-15 cycle include:  Art League of Henderson County, Blue Ridge Community College Music by the Lake Series, Carolina Concert Choir, Friends of Carl Sandburg at Connemara, Hendersonville Chamber Music, Hendersonville Symphony Children’s Choir, Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, Latino Advocacy Coalition, and Storytelling Education & Arts Programs, Inc. (STEAP).

The Arts Council of Henderson County serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s Designated County Partner in awarding these grants to local organizations for arts programs in Henderson County. The grants are designed to provide support for quality arts programs that reach and impact a broad cross-section of the county’s citizens and youth. The Grassroots Arts Program ensures opportunities for citizens to experience the arts in their own communities.

The Arts Council of Henderson County is a community organization that promotes, advocates for, and nurtures the arts in Henderson County and Western North Carolina.  The Arts Council is located at 401 North Main Street, 3rd floor, (entrance on 4th Avenue West), in Hendersonville.

The Arts Council is supported in part by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources; several funds administered by the Community Foundation of Henderson County, Henderson County Government, Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, and the City of Hendersonville.

The Arts Council of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, has awarded $12,652 in Grassroots funding to 12 local organizations. The North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program is designed to provide program or operating support for nonprofit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming. The community panel evaluated 13 applications based on artistic quality, community impact, ability to plan and implement the project, and stability and fiscal responsibility of the organization. Grants were awarded in varying amounts from $500 to $2,052.

The Arts Council of Henderson County serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s Designated County Partner in awarding these subgrants to local organizations for arts programs in Henderson County. The grants are designed to provide support for quality arts programs that reach and impact a broad cross-section of the county’s citizens and youth.

“We are pleased to have two new arts organizations who will be receiving Grassroots funding for the first time this year,” said Patty Smyers, Managing Director of the Arts Council, “they are the So Dance Company of the Southside Dance Studio in Fletcher, and the new nonprofit, Storytelling Education & Arts Programs, Inc. Arts Council of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, Offers Grants and Grant Workshop

The Arts Council of Henderson County, NC, is now accepting applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through August 16, 2012. There will be a grant writing workshop at the Arts Council, 401 N. Main St., 3rd floor, in downtown Hendersonville, NC, on Thursday, July 19, 2012, from 3:30 – 5pm.

Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Henderson County. Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations, arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Projects must occur between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013.

Rockingham County Arts Council in Wentworth, NC, is Accepting Subgrant Applications – Deadline – June 30, 2012

Rockingham County Arts Council in Wentworth, NC, is now accepting applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through June 30, 2012.

Since 1977, the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program has provided North Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences. Using a per capita based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of the state through partnerships with local arts councils.

Rockingham County Arts Council serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s partner in awarding subgrants to local organizations for arts programs in Rockingham County.

Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Rockingham County. Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals), arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Grassroots funds are not generally awarded to arts organizations that receive funding through the North Carolina Arts Council’s State Arts Resources. Projects must occur between July1, 2012 – May 30, 2013.

Application forms and grant guidelines are available on the Rockingham County Arts Council website at (www.artsinrockingham.org) or may be picked up at the Rockingham County Arts Council office Monday, Thursday &  Friday between 11am-2pm. Rockingham County Arts Council will also mail applications and guidelines upon request. Applications must be received no later than 5pm, June 30, 2012.

Grant applications are evaluated by a diverse panel of community members and voted on by Rockingham County Arts Council Board of Directors. Awards are announced in September each year.

RCAC is the focal point/umbrella organization for the arts and information about the arts in Rockingham County. Our mission is to nurture and enrich the cultural life in Rockingham County.
