Conrardy normally paints in oil but works in any medium. He is currently teaching a Plain Aire Oil Painting Workshop at City Art in Columbia that focuses on painting man-made objects in a natural landscape. That could be a building, other type of structure, vehicles or other objects. He also discusses how to make creeks, rivers, marshes, paths, fences and roads look believable in paintings.

Conrardy is from Kansas and attended Kansas State University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering. Upon completing college, Mark moved to California where he worked for Ware Malcomb Architects. Mark’s first job at that firm was working on presentation drawings for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. While working in architecture, Mark completed many parts of the California State Architectural Licensing Exam including Architectural Design.
