Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County in Favetteville, NC, Calls for Entries for 2019 “10:10:10” Exhibit – Deadline July 12, 2019

In the summer of 2018, the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County in Fayetteville, NC, unveiled an innovative exhibition titled “10:10:10”, which answered the question, “What happens when you give 10 linear feet to 10 artists for 10 self-curated exhibitions?” The result was everything from photography to paper quilling to paintings, including unique two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.

Because of its popularity, “10:10:10” is returning. The exhibition will open on 4th Friday, August 23, and will be on view through October 19.

The deadline for submitting portfolios is fast approaching: July 12, 2019. The link for info is at (www.theartscouncil.com/101010).

Visual artists 18 years of age and older from the 11-county area served by the Arts Council are eligible to enter: Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson and Scotland counties. There is no entry fee for this exhibition.

“One of the most exciting things about ’10:10:10′ is that artists are curating their own exhibitions,” says Adrienne Trego, Director of Education and Outreach for the Arts
Council. According to Trego, the portfolios will be juried by an Arts Council Committee comprised of specialists in the field of visual arts. “We encourage emerging and established artists to enter, and a minimum of 50% of each artist’s works should be listed for sale,” says Trego. “It really is like having 10 exhibitions in one gallery.”

In an effort to spotlight new artists, last year’s “10:10:10” artists are not eligible for the upcoming exhibition.

The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County was founded in 1973. As a link between artists, arts and cultural organizations and the community, the nonprofit agency administers programs in partnership with a variety of agencies to stimulate community enrichment through the arts. The Arts Council supports individual creativity, cultural preservation, economic development and lifelong learning through the arts.

The Arts Council’s grants, programs and services are funded in part by contributions from businesses and individuals, and through grants from the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County and the NC Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural & Cultural Resources.
