A New Artist Collective is Being Founded in Morganton, NC

March 31, 2015

An expanding group of artists, the Katz Arts Collective, is getting ready to set up in the old Katz Department store building in downtown Morganton, NC. For several weeks, they have been pulling up old carpets, setting up the shop windows, and cleaning up spaces. The old place is cleaning up rather well.  The group plans to have spaces for artists to work, give demonstrations, provide classes for children and adults, have a gallery space and rent shelf spaces to local artists.

The membership process: Interview, complete membership dues, Orientation (Includes shop software overview, and Facebook Introduction).

This is the brainchild of Autumn Samen, a local photographer and mother of three.

The Grand opening and launch of this new organization is scheduled for May 1st, 2015, from 5-9pm at the Katz building, 116 West Union Street in Morganton.

For further info about the group or joining contact Samantha McKinney by phone at 828/439-3626 or e-mail to (catsclaw1001@gmail.com).
