Theatre Art Galleries in High Point, NC, will host its Annual Gala and Art Auction on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 6:30 – 9:30pm at the home of Ashley and Braxton Culler, 1004 Country Club Drive, in High Point. The TAG Gala is a lovely spring evening full of original art and silent auction items generously donated by businesses and artists, both local and nationwide. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres from Southern Roots, a full bar, and some light jazz.

There will be approximately 150 works of art available for bidding from over 50 artists. In addition there will be over 100 silent auction items and gift certificates to area restaurants, spas, salons, and other area service providers.

The Gala is TAG’s largest fundraiser of the year and it helps support their many education and outreach programs and ongoing exhibits. TAG hosts 16-20 exhibitions of visual art annually including art from over 25 area schools in the interactive Kaleidoscope Youth Gallery. Crucial to TAG’s mission are the education programs and outreach services. During the school year, TAG offers art classes for children and adults, and the summer months provide a unique selection of specially designed visual art camps. TAG also sponsors community outreach art programs within our local schools, specialty summer art workshops taught in Spanish and an afterschool art program with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater High Point, including two weeks of summer camp taught on site.

This year’s raffle painting is titled “Fort Fisher Sunset”, generously donated by the artist, Joan Farrenkopf. The original oil on canvas painting (24” x 18”) has a retail value of $1200. Raffle tickets are $15 each or available in a package of 10 for $100, and may be purchased through the TAG website (www.tagart.org). You do not need to be present to win.

Ticket prices for the event are $50 for TAG members and $60 for non-members and may be purchased through the website (www.tagart.org).
