January 17, 2011

The eleventh annual Art With Heart art auction, which raises funds for United Family Services’ domestic violence programs, is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Founders Hall in Uptown Charlotte, NC. WCNC Charlotte Today Anchors Colleen Odegaard and Rob Tanner host the evening which includes silent and live auctions featuring art from many of the region’s most notable artists. Emily and Zach Smith serve as Honorary Chairs for the event.

This year’s featured artists are Alice Ballard, Carolyn DeMeritt, Jayne Johnson, Linda Foard Roberts, Virginia Scotchie and Margie Stewart. These six female artists headline the event and a piece by each artist has been donated to the auction by Hodges Taylor Art Consultancy. These featured artists were selected because of the nature of their work as it relates to the human experience, and honoring the women that benefit from United Family Services’ programs. Their work is joined by 18 other original works of art in the live auction and over 150 works of art in the silent auction. Art With Heart Emerging Artists Competition winner Laura Alma McCarthy will also be included in the live auction.
